Two Maine police officers convicted of animal cruelty and illegal hunting: they slaughtered several porcupines

In the State of Maine, two police officers were sentenced to prison for bludgeoning several porcupines.31-year-old Michael Rolerson must be locked up for 270 days. In addition, he and his colleague Addison Cox (28) have to pay a fine of $ 1000. With 90 days, Cox faces a shorter sentence than his companion.

Rolerson was given a heavier sentence because he had been in the service for a long time and killed more porcupines. Cox stated that he only participated because he looked up to Rolerson.

In addition to the two being convicted of animal cruelty, they have also been guilty of illegal hunting. Last year the two men were fired.
