The Icelandic low-coster PLAY wants to start scheduled flights to the US in 2022. The start-up has submitted an application to the US Department of Transportation. In principle, there should be flights to the American East Coast.
PLAY, like Icelandair and the now bankrupt WOW Air, wants to connect Europe and North America via Iceland. The airline started flights to destinations in Europe this year, and hopes to expand to the US next year.
Unlike its predecessor WOW Air, PLAY does not use large Airbus A330’s, but the smaller A321neo.
