Gap considers closing stores in Europe

The American clothing company Gap is examining the options for the European branch. One of the options being considered is the closing of Gap branches in the United Kingdom, France, Ireland and Italy.

These are branches operated by Gap itself. It is unclear to what extent franchisees are affected. Stopping the shops would be on the agenda for the end of the second quarter of 2021.

Gap is also exploring the future of its distribution chain in Europe and the online activities of both the Gap and Banana Republic brands. It is possible that the distribution center in British Rugby will be closed. Gap also looks at parts in Europe that can be sold to other parties.
